Welcome to the official Devon & Somerset Condors Waypoint Competition, a club-level challenge designed for CP and above pilots who want to build experience and navigation skills in a supportive environment.
This challenge is about learning and improving, not just winning.
Whether you're flying your first structured task or looking to refine your XC strategy, this competition is designed to help you grow as a pilot. And most importantly, to have fun and fly safely!
The idea of the competition is very simple: take off from one of the 6 sites (red circles), fly to as many of 19 waypoints (blue circles) as you can, returning to a take-off site before landing.
The competition is open to all full Devon and Somerset Condors members with a CP rating or above.
Taking part in this competition will
- be FUN!
- get you thinking
- get you flying away from the hill, but not so far that you can’t get back
- help you to work out how your GPS works
- improve your flying
- push you to the edge of your “comfort bubble” and thus increase its size
